C/A 6 lets you identify problems, their root causes, and the actions taken to resolve them. The built-in analysis tools help you to identify your weaknesses in order to implement Quality Improvement initiatives.
Perform Follow-up Create actions items that prompt you to perform 30, 60, and 90-day follow-up audits to ensure the effectiveness of your Corrective/Preventive actions.
Verify Effectiveness Trend and pareto reports provide a visual indication that your Corrective/Preventive Action efforts are effective. You can even determine whether you are getting to the true root causes of your issues.

- sues System?? Issue records are used to categorize and document all types of Issues. An Issues List provides both an on-screen reporting function as well as a means for locating a desired record. The Issue Detail Screen organizes related information into tabs that can be hidden and shown as needed
- How this compares to C/A 5: This release includes the ability to establish one-way and two-way relationships between Issues
- Action records are used to identify tasks required of members of your organization to support the resolution of Issues. An Actions List may be used to review open actions and includes visual cues to identify overdue or un-reviewed actions
- How this compares to C/A 5: As of this release, an Action can be involved in a one-way or two-way relationship with another Action
- In order to categorize Issues and collect required information, C/A 6 includes a number of user fields that can be configured to collect text, numeric, date, or validated data
- How this compares to C/A 5: In this release, the number of Issue fields has been extended from 18 to 100. In addition, Action records now include up to 100 user-definable fields
- As C/A 6 accumulates a large number of records, user-definable queries may be easily defined to specify a set of criteria that determines the particular records to include in a list or report
- How this compares to C/A 5: New in this release is the advanced query feature that allows advanced users to specify an SQL "where clause" and gain additional control over the information retrieved
- A number of reports are included to provide frequently desired analysis of corrective action data. These include the Problem List, Problem Aging Report, Problem Pareto Report, Problem Trend Report, Problem Summary Report, Problem Detail Report, Action List, Extended Action List, Action Aging Report, Action Pareto Report, Action Trend Report, and Action Detail Report. This release includes the new Crystal Reports Version 9 report engine that produces a better quality of graphs as well as an improved performance
- How this compares to C/A 5: The all new Active Report Designer allows you to define and format your own reports. Although these reports do not include graphs, the designer is flexible, easy to use, and is included royalty free. Of course, if you own a copy of Crystal Reports, you may still use that tool to modify built in reports and design graphs
- *As always, reports can be exported to a variety of formats for Email, external analysis or posting on your intranet
- C/A 6 relies on Email to notify team members of Issues and overdue actions. As mentioned above, many of the reports may be sent by Email for management review, supplier action or customer response
- C/A 6 uses visual cues to alert you when problems and actions are due, awaiting approval or overdue. Items in the database are color coded for quick status awareness
- If you deploy C/A 6 in a multi-user environment, you can set up workgroups to define which features will be available to various types of users. The licensing scheme allows unlicensed users to have Read-Only access to the system
- How this compares to C/A 5: Since this release supports SQL Server databases, C/A 6 can now be distributed in a widely used client-server environment
- On screens where data is entered, the spell check feature is useful for verifying correct spelling
- How this compares to C/A 5: This feature works just like that found in most word processors except that it actually checks the spelling of more than one field on a data entry screen
