Plan for Windows - Project planning application for Windows
Project planning application for Windows NT/2000/XP/Vista/Win7. A separate version is also available for a range of PDAs.
Create a project plan by entering tasks and resources, add holiday information and create dependencies between tasks. Plan will calculate the entire project schedule taking into consideration dependencies and holiday information.
Includes display of Gantt chart and critical path calculation.
The program also can be used as an inexpensive Microsoft Project file viewer, since it can read MPP, MPD, MPX and XML files. Note, however, that Plan isn't simply a Microsoft Project viewer, since it also can update and recalculate projects and if necessary write them back in Microsoft format.
Use Plan for Windows stand-alone or use it in conjunction with Pocket Plan on a Pocket/Handheld PC/Nokia Communicator. This option allows you to create project plans on your PC and then transfer the data to your PDA where you can continue to work on your plan.

Feature List:
- A separate file for each project plan with either plan specific or a shared resource file
- Any number of tasks may be entered (subject to available memory), each having the following details
- Calculation of end date and time, work, or work rates for each task
- A start or end constraint may be specified for each task, i.e. the task must start on/after the given date
- A task may be dependent upon any number of other tasks, with specified lag times with each dependency. Plan will automatically calculate the start of each task from the dependencies and constraints
- Task tracking. The actual work done may be input as work progresses
- Accuracy down to a minute
- Tasks may be grouped under a summary task whose fields are calculated automatically from the sub-tasks. Tasks may be nested up to eight levels deep
- The labour costs are calculated automatically for a task along with the total cost for the project
- Any number of resources may be input, (subject to memory limits imposed by the operating system). Each resource has the following properties
- A Gantt chart view
- Resource usage view, highlighting overallocated resources
- Sorting of tasks by a number of attributes
- Transfer projects between Plan and Microsoft Project
- Transfer tasks to Microsoft Outlook
- Copy and Paste tasks and resources to other Windows applications via the clipboard
