Virtual Serial Ports Driver XP2 - Two virtual serial ports linked to each other via virtual null-modem cable
Virtual Serial Ports Driver (VSPD) is a Windows device driver. Using it you can create any number of virtual serial COM ports in your system which will be virtually connected to each other. For example, after installing VSPD, you will have Virtual Serial Port COM5 and Virtual Serial Port COM6 added to your system. These ports will behave like real common serial ports to other Windows applications. These ports will not interact with any hardware. The idea is: all data sent by other application to COM5 will arrive at COM6, and all data sent by other applications to COM6 will arrive at COM5. So, the application, that listening COM5 will get all data, sent by other application to COM6 and vise-versa.

- Link between virtual serial ports is much faster than real null-modem cable connection and solely depends on your processor speed. Average transfer speed is about 35-40 Kbytes/sec
- VSPD uses advanced Windows kernel driver technology (supporting WDM, WMI, Power Management, PnP, etc.)
- Virtual link is much more reliable than common physical link
- Virtual serial port can have the same name as real serial port (virtual serial port overlapping). In case of overlapping, the real serial port you overlap will be not available anymore
- Printers can be assigned to any created virtual serial ports
- Easily emulate virtual serial line connection break
- Get complete information about current virtual serial port state, sent/received data volumes, and other options
- Ports are automatically re-created on system reboot (prior to user login)
