During the backup process, all of your files are encrypted and the filenames are changed making the files useless to anyone who might gain access to them. Through sync'd folders (a feature of OneDrive, Google Drive, and Dropbox), your backups can automatically be sync'd to the cloud.
Files backed up with CloudBackupXL can only be restored by you (or anyone else you give the encryption password to). If anyone else gained access to the backed up files they will be unable to read the file contents and they will have no idea what the files contain. The files could be pictures, documents, or anything else.
